Pierre Le Clainche review for Voiles et Voiliers

“The new carbon weapon from Great Britain is intended for sailors new to foiling who would pride themselves on owning an individual foiling boat with a high quality finish. This small flying trimaran is also the first to bet on a “hybrid” configuration, which allows both foiling and classic sailing. It is a bet that has succeeded.”

ISBF – We have only one note here. We would like to point out that the Flying Mantis is very much aimed at experienced sailors as well as beginners. Depending on the sailor’s skill the boat can be configured to top end Moth levels, or the foiling controls can simply be put to “set and forget” so that the focus can be on sailing. The idea is that the sailor can move from beginner to advanced level without having to also move boats.

Won’t lie I was a little nervous going out in the 20 knots+ Pelar, however after five minutes the nerves were all gone and it could have been 15 knots and flat water from the way the boat handled. - Aaron Smith, Chief Instructor Lake Garda, Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre.
